System
When we talk about outboard motors, the name of Yamaha outboard motors first come in our minds
due to quality and best performance. The system that provides the necessary propulsion to the boat to move is
called outboard motor. Engine, propeller and gear box are common and important parts of the motor and these parts
are packed inside the system of motor unit. The motors that can be fixed inside the boat are commonly named as
inboard boats. Outboard motors have taken advantage over inboard motors due to ease with which they can be removed
and repaired.
If you need an outboard motor for your boat, then Yamaha outboard motors can give you a wide
range and variety from which you can easily select a motor that will meet your budget, demand and requirement.
Yamaha has provided a wide range of outboard motors with different powers and energy requirements. No doubt there
are a lot of names like mercury, Nissan and Honda but Yamaha has its own place in the world of outboard motors
Yamaha outboard motors are fuel operated. The use of Yamalube 2-M oil will fulfill your requirement. If this oil
is not available then you can use any outboard motor oil but you must check the rating of that oil if the rating is
TC-W3, then you can use it. Otherwise search for another outboard motor oil having this rating. The use of correct
fuel will avoid knocking. If you are going to choose another fuel, then one thing must be kept in your mind is
that, fuel should be unleaded.
The choice of correct propeller will affect the performance of your motor. The incorrect choice of propeller
will badly affect the performance and efficiency of the Yamaha outboard motors. Whenever the operating load is
large, then the propeller with small pitch will be more suitable. And if the operating load is small then propeller
with larger pitch will be suitable for the job. Yamaha outboard motors
give you the choice to choose the propeller according to your operating load and working requirements. Propellers
are also available on Yamaha stock dealers. They will not only guide in choosing the correct propeller but will
also help you in fitting the propeller.
You cannot start the motor when it is geared in. Yamaha outboard motors have provided you with the safety and
protection. You can only start the motor when it is neutral. This will avoid any sudden accident and loss. Most of
Yamaha outboard motors models are 2 strokes. Yamaha outboard performance can be varied if you choose 2 strokes
instead of four stroke. And recently Yamaha has also launched four stroke Yamaha outboards.
Whenever you need to transport or store your motor, you must take care of fuel leakage. And for safety purposes
you must close the fuel cock and air vent screw to avoid any leakage. Extra care must be taking during the
transportation of fuel oil. It must be transported carefully either in car or boat. One thing more that should be
kept in mind is that don’t fill the oil container of motor up to maximum level. As fuel is a liquid it will expand
on heating. And thus a pressure will be setup in the oil container. This can cause further damage. Mostly leakage
occurs due to this problem.
If you are going to store your motor for a long interval of time, then some steps should be taken in order to
avoid and prevent damages. A service of your outboard motor should be done before storing it. You must store you
outboard motor in dry place with proper ventilation. There should be no direct contact of sunlight with outboard
motor. The body of outboard motor must be washed with fresh and clean water. Before storing, fill the fuel tank of
motor with suitable fuel oil and also add a stabilizer. Silencer cap and cowling should be removed carefully. And
also remove the propeller and store it separately. The electrical parts of motors should not be removed during
operation and you should not touch electrical parts. Switch off the motor before removing any electrical part.
The electrolytic fluid present in the batteries of motors is very toxic and dangerous. The electrolytic fluid
has a high proportion of sulfuric acid which is a highly toxic liquid. You must keep yourself away from this fluid,
because contact of electrolytic fluid with your body can cause severe burn which will not heal easily. If you need
to change the electrolytic fluid then you must wear goggles, because the contact of fluid with eye can damage it
badly. But still if there is any contact accidently the wash the infected area with fresh water. And if accidently
electrolytic fluid will get into your mouth, immediately drink water and milk along with milk of magnesia.
From this, one can easily get idea about the Yamaha outboard motors. And now you can easily make a decision
while choosing any outboard motor for your boat. Yamaha outboard parts are available on authorized dealers of
Yamaha. If any part of your motor has worn out or damaged. You can easily replace it.
